How do I setup Stellody?
Once installed, please run the app to get licensed, then proceed to the menu item “Help | View Help” inside the app for more details. Alternatively click the Help! link on the home page and read the instructions therein.
What exactly is covered in the demo license?
The demo license allows you to use Stellody for 14 days and only allows you to use a maximum 5 source artists, including various artists, rather than a larger library; the playlists generated will be far less related to your local library of music but it will create some playlists as a demonstration in Spotify in some suitable genres. Please note that a demo license is locked to your musicbrainz email (necessary for a full app setup).
What exactly is covered in the standard license?
The standard license is a full license that allows you to use Stellody for a period of 12 months without restrictions. Please note that the standard license is locked to your musicbrainz email (necessary for a full app setup).
Do I need a paid for Spotify account?
No, you do not need a paid for subscription to Spotify. You do, however, need a Spotify account.
Why is Deezer a feature in the app but I cannot use it?
Deezer playlist generation is in draft currently since Deezer is currently not allowing new applications.
Why are the progress bars moving along very slowly?
The third party services we use to acquire information online have rate limiting implemented; if we hit them too fast (We’d love to as it would be much faster for a run!) then your account(s) with these services will be blocked for 24h or potentially longer.
The installer on Windows warns about a security issue with an unknown publisher. Should I be concerned?
A typical warning on launching the installer in windows might look like this:
Application:
stellody_installer_v1_6_0.exe
Publisher:
Unknown publisher
A certificate is required that we have yet to implement; this will remove the security warning on Windows but it’s safe at present do not worry.
Why hasn’t my Spotify app updated with my generated playlists?
Note that your Spotify app may take a short while to synchronise your new playlists from the online website to your local app. This is a Spotify implementation and outside the scope of this app.
